80 Corvette, the one with the cheap malformed plastic bumpers, The one that was actually slower and handled worse than the same year Trans AM,,, Keep the bike.
This year I just traded my 79 vette for an 08 Sportster 883L. The vette had about 80k miles on it and was in bad shape. Very bad. It was black on black with the L84/auto. If your wanting a vette this is NOT the one you want. The motor is a dog, the transmission is weak, and the car is not much for performance..
If you are thinking of trading then selling, then do it, the vette might be worth more than your sporty.
My bike is free and clear and I've had it on craigslist asking 6k for about 3 weeks, but no calls yet. I was wanting to sell and buy a road king or heritage cause I would like to do some touring and don't like the looks of bags on my R.
The guy with the vette was asking 6k as well, which was below value on NADA. I know that year car only put out 190hp which is admittedly pathetic. But for the difference in money towards a different bike, I could turn the 350 into a 383 stroker. Of course that's with me putting everything together which isn't a problem. I have built a couple of engines over the years.
It would be hard to give up the freedom of 2 wheels!
A 1980 Corvette is not that desirable. The two happiest days in the live of a 'vette owner - "the day he bought it and the day he sold it". Been there, done that. Also, unless times have changed, insurance on any Corvette is ridiculous.
