hi there , im having trouble find info on disassembling the start switch .not the run / kill switch the starter switch, i think mines stuck or corroded , ive searched several terms , but cant find the info/threads i need . can anyone help ??
Dunno about Harleys, but on Mustangs there is a button that you can press in a tiny hole on the side of the key cylinder. Pressing this while you turn the key will release the cylinder. Take a look on the side of the cylinder and see if there is one. If so, insert a paperclip with the key in the run position and see if it comes out.
Do you mean the starter button on the RH switch assembly? You need to remove the entire switch assembly, by unscrewing the two clamp screws. You would also benefit by getting yourself a factory service manual before you start doing that, as there are some useful tips in it.

You're posts never seem to be clear or complete on what you want or are trying to do.
You first want to know how to disassemble the switch, and then say you know how to take it off.
The run/stop and start switches are an assembly. They're not made to be serviced. An entire replacement assembly is <$35.00.

If you haven't done so since this last rain, remove all fuses and relays, clean all contacts and reapply dielectric grease.
This should be done annually on all 07 Sporties. The fuse box on 07's is a major water trap.

Was that limited to the 07s?
The fuse box on mine seems to be pretty well sealed up and tucked out of the way of potential rain water....but if I need to address this, I'd rather find out now before its an issue.

That's why I deliberately put 07 in the statement TWICE. "This should be done annually on all 07Sporties. The fuse box on 07's is a major water trap."
