I read you correctly, I just wanted to verify that it wasn't an 07+ issue where maybe you forgot to type the "+". People make mistakes, especially when typing in forums.
While the 07's have a major water problem unlike other model years, I still recommend coating all electrical contacts on all bikes with dielectric grease. It just doesn't need to be re-done constantly as on the 07's.
I spent several hours 4 years ago pulling apart every connector on the bike I could get to and greased all of the contacts. Since then I just reapply the grease when I have to disconnect one. I've never had an electrical connection problem as a result in 75,000+ miles.
