I have forward controls and love them ...also have mini apes that I adjusted so the are closer to me. I just need a mustang seat now and I'll be good to go!

When I start feeling uncomfortable I lean way forward and use the passenger pegs to rest me seat on...sort of like riding a sport bike. After a little while I switch back to the "normal" riding position. Going back and forth as such really helps me.

lowered the stock handlebars. gonna look at mid mounting a set of pegs. do i need to extend them to get at them? then next will be the bicycle style front pegs. those look like they'll hold on real well!

took a ride with the bars lowered. definite improvement, but not good enough. i had my wife measure from where i'm comfortable to the bar. it looks like i need to come back around 4". we tried this a couple of times. same result. so, what's the best/cheapest way to come back 4" on my custom?

I just posted a DIY thread that might come in handy for anyone wanting to change their bar position, if you end up needing to change out the front brake line:

Put your hands out to where it is most comfortable to hold them

Open your eyes...where ever your hands are, that is where you want the handlebar grips to be.

Regarding getting a comfortable peg for your feet...you gotta have one that has a bit larger platform AND will move when you want to shift around a little.
There is a good assortment to look at HERE

Pic of just one of the styles-

Saw these and had to have them Ordered them along with a tank lift, key and coil relocation. Put the pegs on last night and took about 30 min ride this morning. With that short ride I can tell these are going to be much more comfortable and secure going down the road than my stock pegs. However..........going from riding foot position to upshift foot position to downshift foot position (brake also, you get the idea), is proving to be difficult. Pivoting from your ankle up and down is no problem because the peg pivots. Getting your toes under and over the shift peg is a bitch. Once your foot is on the peg it does NOT want to move from side to side. Im sure a lot of it has to do with me not being used to it, but I didnt have to get used to my stock pegs at all I hope I do get used to it cause Id like to keep them on.

This is a link to a set of pullback risers that I plan to try. I'm having similar issues. What I like about these risers is that they raise and pull back the handlebars, but don't change the angle at which speedo mounts, so you don't have to mess with remounting the speedometer. Haven't bought them yet, next month...

I had the same thing happen with me on my sporty when I first started using this type peg. The fix is easy...adjust your shifter so there is a little more room between the foot peg and the bottom of the shifter...use the threaded bar on your shift linkage.

Cool pics!
