Not to be a smart *** but i don't care what anyone else thinks about my 883L.It's my bike my money and I paid for all the extra bling parts myself. When they pay they can form an opinion.By the way it zips around quite well, kinda too much because I'm waiting for the first ticket to be written at some point soon.I don't drive slow and may never do so.My car gets as much mileage as my bike because of the fun factor.Good thing they have a built in rev limiter because it gets used alot when I'm riding if I forget when to shift before it kicks in.The bike sounds terrible when it kicks in.My old sporty had one that quit working I won't go into why right now. That just made it faster.Did you ever try to lean at 115 mph yet? It's not as easy as you would think. The wind at that speed is something else also without a full face or windshield. That was the old bike the new one has only hit 105 so far.Makes me want to ride tomorrow it will be in the high 40's or low 50's.I had people looking and laughing at me with camo coveralls on last week on my 32 degree ride.

Stupid question, but why is it that Sporster owners ( a lot of them but not all) always ask, "Is the sportster a real harley?" type questions. To be honest with you, I ride with a lot of poeple and not one of them ride a sportster, yet not one of them ever say anything degrading or downing play sportsters.

BTW the sporster is not a woman's bike. My wife rides and she says she would never own a sporter. She doesn't like the way they handle.

I never asked that. Kinda like in the 60's when Harley made the smaller bikes. I remember a 90cc bike.

I love my 883c. I ride to work at 5:30 in the morning, then change into my work clothes... skirt and heels... then after work... back into my riding clothes. Last week it was 21 degrees. I still rode. It warms up by the time that I get off work, and I look forward to taking the long way home. The only other guy that is still riding that works with me is also a sporty rider. The guys that I work with that ride the big scooters dont ride when it is that cold. No one has ever said anything about me riding a sporty. I dont know if that is because I am a woman. The reaction that I get from people that I work with is respect and admiration for having a love for something so much that I am willing to go through all of the inconvenience and discomfort of the cold just so that I can get a ride in. I think that if you enjoy your sporty, and you are riding your sporty... that is all that really matters. Have a good Thanksgiving, and dont stress over what other people think.

I own a 1200 sporty and my girlfriend is getting an 883 once she gets tired of riding her starter Virago 250. I love my Sporty and am sure the 883 is just as good.
