If I tell you that your bike is a piece of S H I T, would you take it? If you like Yamaha, ride a Yamaha. What I mean is "Who cares", ride whatever you like, who cares what people really think? Later [&:] Alex
I ride with a lot of guys (and girls) that ride Big Twin H-D's. Also ride with some guys that have some big time high dollar choppers. None of them has ever said anything negative about my ride. Most of them had a Sporty at one time or another, and they ususally say "I miss my Sportster."
The only people I've been around that have said anything about my 883 have been a couple of people at work that don't own a bike and 1 guy that owns a Honda 1100 ACE. The guy with the Honda has stopped saying crap since his has been broke 3 times this summer while mine has kept on keeping on. The others with no bikes don't have a clue about bikes anyways so I don't pay them any mind.
I'm glad to hear good stuff from everyone.I just got a snortster, and I can remember some of the old boys sayin' it's half a harley. All I know is my last bike was a 125 and going to an 883 is a mind blowing experience. Can't wait till break in is over.
I don't get why some Sportster riders feel so inadequate when around other Harleys.
When I ride into a place, bike night⌠poker run, what ever⌠I ride in like I belong there⌠why?... because I do.
I could give a S**t less what people think. My bike looks and sounds as good as most and quiet frankly better than a lot of them. So why should I care what they think.
My Sportster probably gets more walk-arounds and discussions than most stock bikes there⌠so⌠who should feel more inadequateâŚ
All I can say is⌠if you are that worried about how your bike is viewed by other riders then next time you buy one you should take a poll on which bike you should get.
Personally I would go with my taste rather than most other peopleâŚ.
Don't know, don't care. I'm faster anyways. Nothing makes me happier than to look back and see the look on the guys face who can't believe his VTX1800 just lost to an 883. He's scheduling another trip to his shrink to deal with his superiority complex.
