So i was searching the forum for doing something to my airfilter that does not cost an arm and a leg. I saw Mreed's post and really liked it. Then I came across this that another member posted, and felt like it really fit my style more. Anyways here is the link to the pic
I have my Se stage I open like that, cut the stock cover to look like the one in the pix. I issues, but my PCIII is tuned for the intake and pipes. The only thing is the filter needs to be cleaned more offten and if you ride in the rain the filter gets wet-that's not good. I have been a a fe bad storms with mine and did not have a water ingestion issue and the filter still looks fine.

Just curious if there is any ill effects to this mod? Thanks for any input
Ill effect? I suppose some hottie could come past, get stabbed by the points and you have to put your lips to hers and give her a little CPR but it does look nice.

Anyone got the part number and info for that filter? Also from my understanding I just bolt the filter on with a new gasket and thats all right? Or do I need that plastic back portion from the stock or SE one? Does it make a difference? I would still have the breather bolts. Any help is appreciated
On my bike, the mounting bolts for the outside cover are incorporated into the back plate. You could probably fabricate a back plate and bolt the top and back plates together.
