woes heard, seen, or knows where i can find this thing. i think its called auto clutch. when the rpms are under 1200 its like having the clutch lever in, this thing is brilliant! its not an auto shift or anything like that, be great for traffic, parades, drag racing.
Really? Sounds interesting. That reminds me the first remote control gas model car I have, the centrifugal clutch starts kicking in at higher rpm. Don't forget the old VW bug semi-automatic, torque converter plus a clutch. Well, I like to use the clutch in any riding condition, it's fun.[:-]Alex
Auto clutch???!!!! WTF? Sounds like an oxymoran to me. If the clutch is that big on an issue, just match the engine speed to the gearing and you can shift pretty smoothly without using the clutch. I don't recommend it as a regular riding habit, but it can certainly be done.
Now in Parades, might be very nice. Those are a PAIN to ride/walkthebike in.
from what I know or seen on tv, it isnt for shifting while riding, it just eliminates the need to hold the lever in when your stopped.
thanks for the insights. does anyone have a link to a review on this?
Ah....got it now...I was a bit slow on the uptake on that one. I just take the bike outta gear and let the clutch out when I know I'm gonna be in for a long sit in traffic. But in Parades and for folks that ride in HEAVY traffic on a regular basis, I could see where that would be handy.
