I essentially intended to do the exact same thing that guy did. I've been seriously thinking about some new bars and if I do will be following his write up on wiring and switches. I've been dreaming of 1 1/4" fat attack bars.
Here's the set I started on. Really nothing to it. I was using the bars on my XS650 while I grinded away. Still never finished them up but they'll be similar to ^^those posted above.
Took the bike for a good little ride after work today. Does seem like it lost a little low end so I bought some torque cones for the headers and they should do the trick. Not to mention, blowing a little blue flame on decel so I'm gonna swap out the copper exhaust gaskets this wknd also just to make sure I don't have a leak. Other than that bike rode well, sounds completely different than it did so I gotta get used to that.
