Default Forward AND mid controls?

Today I picked up some mid controls to put on my sportster, just to compare forward and mid.

I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to have both forward and mid controls at the same time, so you can switch while riding.

Anyone every done it?

Is it a really bad idea?

you can have highway pegs and mids at the same time, but I dont think you can have forwards and mids, Unless you could fab something up to the mid mount shifter that would let you run the linkage to the forwards....it might look goofy as hell though.

It could be made to work, you will basically need the two controls and a y linkage for the brake and the shifter. I agree though, would look awful goofy, IMO.

That's what I have and I love it. The only time I really need to stretch my legs is on the highway or any situations where I'm cruising and little-to-no braking or shifting going on. In town I stay on the mids to be close to the controls. I think if I had controls on both ends it might get a little weird, be moving my feet around too much.
But to answer your question; yes it could fabbed and probably has by somebody, just a matter of modifying the existing mids to accept some kind of linkages, then the linkages would have to be adjustable in order to keep things in sinc. Would like to see what a set-up like that looks like myself.

You can have forwards with mid mount pegs you need to do a little modification to one mid mounting bracket .I have done it on both my bike and my sons

I'm definitely going to leave the forward pegs on when I put the mid controls on tomorrow. I'm not unhappy with forward controls, but I expect to like the mids too - it's very difficult to push up off the seat for bumps with the forwards. Of course, it would also be easy to just put the mid pegs on.

By the way, there have been much goofier mods described on this forum than dual foot controls.

One thing about the mids and this'll take getting used to. When you come to a stop and go to put your feet down, your pants leg will have a tendency to get caught on the peg which could cause a very embarrassing situation. You need to be thinking about a wider spread to your feet as you come to a stop.
