Default Solid Wheels

Has anyone put solid wheels on there sportsters yet? I've always loved the look of solid black wheel and contemplating getting a pair to put on my sporty. From what I've heard, the wind affects them quite a bit. Anyone have any real experience with wind and solid wheels? How much does it really affect the ride.

Thanks!

What wheel did you use? Can you link me? Also any more larger photos of your bike will be greatly appreciated

I have a solid rear wheel. Came stock on my 99 custom. The wind blows me around quite a bit. Not sure if its the wheel or the fact that I only weigh 155#. I have heard that spoke wheels take on the properties of solid wheels at speed. I kinda buy into that theory....but not 100%

I have hear that a soild wheel will suck in the wind, but I had an anlost solid rear wheel on the 1200 C I had and it felt no differant than the laced rear wheel I have on my XL50.

Hmm, Thanks for the input folks. Maybe I'll just run a solid rear, I was thinking about running solid front as well.

Have a solid wheel off of a fat boy on my 01 sportster.. never had a problem with it. Only problems I have with the bike getting blown around is that it's a small bike (freeway riding, big open spaces with cross winds or big trucks passing). Not 1 bit difference with the solid wheel or with spokes. But I can only speak from my first hand experience. Maybe others have noticed it differently.

I have a solid rear on my Custom. No effect I can tell. My son has a Fatboy with solid f/r. I couldn't tell it on that bike either. I think it's a myth myself.
