i have a 2000 sporty and im thinking about uprgading my heads i was wondering what all do i need . if i get a kit that just includes the heads pistons and c-clips can i just used stock parts or do i need to upgrade ( pushrods lifters ETC). thanks
Heads? A 1250 doesn't require you to change/work your heads. You can use all your other stock parts as well (rods, lifters, etc.) Which kit are you going with?
well i was thinking S&S heads i havent decided which ones because i dont know what i should upgrade to . i did everything else , carb pipes breather, now i want to do a cam and heads. i heard boring stock heads could cost about the same as new bolt on's so i figured why not get brand new parts but if theres another way im up for ideas
Do you have a target hp/tq number? Your heads with work should be plenty. A good job on those heads include valves, springs, stems seals, the works. Basically new.
I was thinking of doing cams as well, But just leaving the stock 1200cc.....you think thats a good idea? If you change the cams and the get the 1250 kit do you need to replace other components? rockers, rods, etc?
Just call NHRS, tell them want you want to accomplish, they know their chit.
Damn, I'm starting to feel like a NHRS salesman today, and that's not the case. I only recommend their products and services as I do with other companies I have had good experience.
