My $.02 at least.
Yea, I'm hoping I can find a good solid way of rigging it up to my 1-pc Bobber style sissybar for long distance solo trips.

Also considered stuffing a gas bomb in it for cheap insurance. Anyone know if you can dump those seal-able emergency fuel containers without spilling all over the tank?

Keep a paper or small funnel in the pack with the fuel and you shouldn't have any problem.

Sorry to jump the sportster thread but hell yea a back pack is legit! When i had my night train id run around with a back back all the time. hauled a 30 back in it a few times for 60 miles, that did get kind of heavy. What i ended up doin was loosening it up enough where the bottom of the bag rest on the passenger seat or fender bib, that way your not holding up all the weight of the back pack. Im with you, i personally hate throw over or leather bags. my brother still hauls stuff around with a back pack during his hour long commute. looks just fine

Default Not My Gig!

My Sporty had a luggage rack with a bag on it and locking saddles. If it didn't fit it didn't go! My Road King has hard bags and a tourpak. If it doesn't fit it doesn't go!

There is an exception I almost forgot. I'll strap a piece of luggage on top of the tourpak rack when traveling. The only things I want hanging on my back when riding are a jacket and the wife!

I have rigid mount bags that I leave on all the time. If I do road trips then I throw a rack bag on the solo rack on the rear fender. Enough room for a week or two trip.

I use one occasionally. I know a guy who's around 55 years old, rides a Vrod, and tours on it using only a large backpack for his luggage.
