I have a Dakine ski backpack that I wear every day to work with my repair kit, laptop, gym clothes, and lunch. Chest and waist straps, waterproof, and it has a breathable mesh back panel so I'm not sweating all over it. I also like it because it has side clips where I typically have the visor for my 3/4 stored, so if I get surprised by rain I'm not SOL (no windshield).
I carry a gal jug of water to work daily an it just won't fit in the bags. I hardly care what anyone thinks it looks like as that gallon of ice water is so good when the temp is 90+ outside and closer to 120 in the yard dog I'm sitting in.
Can't imagine riding around with a bag on my back, so I took a different route. I put a small Motherwell luggage rack on the bike and use a Rolie bag from Wolfman Luggage to carry items as needed.
Your bike is very clean and I like the bag setup, it appears the bag would hold a rolled up jacket - will it?
I can't/won't use a backpack. My back just won't take it. I'm using the bottom one now to hold all my cold weather gear like my chaps, gloves, fleece sweater, eye wear and helmet chin guard (I have a Nolan N43E Trilogy).

Like Rick, I use a solo rack and Sportster Bag from T-bags. Works great for me.
