I've been riding for about 2 months (first 2 months riding ever) on a 2005 Sportster 1200XLC... the gas tank holds 2.25 gallons. My only problem is that i want to go longer without fueling up. Is it 'rookie' of me to want to upgrade to a larger tank? Or should I just grind it out and get used to it?
Forgive me if this is a dumb question, I'm unfamiliar with the HD culture.. but i'm learning!
Either someone swapped out your tank or you're going by the low fuel light. That scoot should have a 4.5 gal tank as stated above. Most Sportster riders use the trip odometer to guage when to stop for fuel, at least that's what I do, and I have a fuel guage.
Like was said the XLC should have the 4.5 gal tank. Yeah the 05 did not have a low fuel light. Do you have a pic of your biek you can post so we can see the tank?
yeah, he must've swapped it out... but he didn't screw up the bike at all. he put 6K of upgrades into it and kept it in his garage. i got it from him with 3,000 miles on it.
