Hi everybody! I have an '11 48. I also have the 'cheap' DIY A/C mod and Xied's(13.8 AFR). I drilled the baffle 'plug' out but it's not loud enough. I like the sound but would like it deeper & louder. I was wanting to take out the whole baffle but I've read mixed 'facts' about it. Some say it'll run too lean even if I'm running Xied's & some say it won't be too lean. Some say it sounds like *** & some say it sounds great. Some say I'll lose a lot of HP but nobody has proof. I don't have any extras funds right now so buying a different exhaust, or slip ons, is out of the question. So my questions are:
1) Will it run too lean even w/Xied?
2) Does it sound like *** or will it be deeper & louder than just removing the plug?
3) Any proof of HP & is it low, medium or high range HP?
DK, thanks for that tested info.! On your site it says the Q is quieter than the W but the Q sounded deeper. Which would you say gives the deepest AND loudest sound? Thanks.
Drop by the house and grab my stock mufflers, they have had the baffle completely removed. that way you can hear how it will sound I will let you take them home to try.
But I will be honest, it sounds good behind the bike and going down the road but when your on the bike you hear the front pipe more cause it is right under you, like it is a single cylinder.

I have some 1 1/2 baffled drags also.

I might take you up on that offer! I want to check your bike out anyways. I'll send you a PM w/my number when I have an idea of when I'll be coming up that way.

With most slip-ons the Q is a little bit sharper tone and a little less volume. The W's have a tad more volume and a little deeper tone.
On ALL the pulls we did on the Dyno last week (63 total), the W out performed the Q by just a little...probably not enough to feel, but it was a consistent 1-2% every time.

The video y'all made says use a 2" hole saw but my pipes are different than the pipes in your video. I have a '11 48. Do I still use a 2" hole saw?
