Wide Glide Front End
The wider tire has no effect on handling from my experience.
Would you swap, the bearing off the old wheel to the new 25mm or just order the axle kit from vulcan to fit the older wheel.
Just let Vulcan know what model you are working with and they include the correct axle for your bike. Whatever wheel you decide to use simply replace the bearings to match the axle size.
Would you just suggested Drilling and tapping the caps with the air valves of the forks to prevent the front end from bottoming out, or is there a better way?
Chances are you would not encounter this...in my case I was already at reduced travel being a Low model. Overall length of the WG trees are slightly more than stock because of the massive castings, thus you lose a little suspension travel. Better springs than the soft stockers would have been better in my case, but I chose the air option instead.
Also with the Valcon Wide glide, can you drill and tap the top tree to mount the factory head light or does it have to be replace completely?
Can't say for certain as I did not attempt. Just my opinion, but I think the small headlite would look rather odd with those massive trees.
sorry for all the question.
