I've gone the sticker route. It's a terrible idea; they bubble up sometimes, colors fade, edges peel, etc. Save up and have it airbrushed.

I disagree with the above post. Vinyl is awesome. Google some different styles. Better yet, go to your local vinyl store and they will know exactly what to do. they're the experts.

Depends on the quality of the vinyl.

I had some stickers on my old Jeep done back in the late 90's in the 'Bad Acid' font - think the Jimi Hendrix Experience logo - in black vinyl. Done by the local truck accessory place. They still looked good and weren't noticeably faded when i sold it just a few months ago. However, a cheaper sticker i had made in blue vinyl - a Chevy Bowtie for the top of the windshield did start to peel and crack after say... 6yrs or so.

I say go the sticker route, as it's cheaper... unless you know a good airbrush guy.

Chances are you'll be bored and want to change-up the look of your Sporty before the vinyl graphics start to look crappy if you get some well-made ones done - and if you don't like how it looks in a few months, you aren't out much $$.

My brother-in-law does vinyl graphics - it's all in the quality. Very good vinyl will go far & also lets you change anytime you want a different look.

I had vinyl racing stripes on my car for a few years. It really depends on the quality to be honest. The stuff I bought was "ten year vinyl" and sure enough around 8 years or so you could see it was aging. that being said it did last 8 years lol destroyed the paint pulling them off though..

BUT if you where to say use vinyl and then add a layer of clear coat (alot of cars factory pin striping is now this way) then as long as the clear is good the vinyl will be as well. I am sure if you put a sticker on there.... like sticker sticker and then added a layer of clear and wet sanded it, then it would last as long as the clear

Thanks guys, I have quite a bit of experience with vinyl, both crap and insanely expensive German stuff. I definitely want to go vinyl because as stated, I will get bored and it's no big deal to change it out every few years if need be.

We have a super nice vinyl cutter at work I can use, so I just wanted to find a font and I think I have. Check this out:

http://miketheactuary.wordpress.com/roadgeek-fonts/

Specifically the "Old Parks" font. It's also known as "Rod", but not sure where that one came from.

BTW, a co-worker found a few good ones at dafont.com. but I told him no way in hell I'm putting anything on my bike that came from a place called dafont.com. LOL
