Default i need more power!

easiest, cheapest, best experience you had upgrading 883 to 1200... do i take it to a harley dealer and just say screw it and pay the insane amount? go to a small dinky dunk motorcycle garage and let them do it and hope its cheaper and that they dont ruin anything? im not by any means a mechanic and have only done oil changes and body work on the bike. so cant do it myself.. how much am i looking at? a grand maybe more?

I don't know about 1200 kits, but you can get a bolt on 1250 kit from NRHS Performance for $700. There should be someone near you that could do the installation. Total should be less than $1500, I would think.

+1 on the NRHS 1250 kit, there is no better. Talk to Dan at NRHS and maybe he know someone in your area to install it

Dealership or Independent doesn't matter IMO. It is all about the tech doing the job. I'd rather have to pay a bit more but not have to wonder when that ticking time bomb is going to go off. I don't know about you but I don't find riding around in paranoia a good thing.

If the bike is FI, you have to get it returned so what will you use for fuel management? In my case, I have narrowed it down to SEPST or PowerVision since I don't believe in foolers and piggybacks that fool the ECM into doing things or canned tunes. I would also add a couple hours for a dyno tune.

What he said.

If Dan can't direct you to someone in your area, take the time to find a good independent shop in your area.

The first sentence is "Why settle for 1200cc when you can have 1250?" ....how much does another 50cc really give me? ...can't be all that much.

I think we are talking 883 to 1250 not 1200 to 1250

My bad! ....I did check out NRHS site, looks like they have a 88ci (1400cc+) conversion for the 1200 ...that would be cool!
