Installed My Shift Gauge Today
I made a few mistakes installing it,
1. The instructions said to locate the grey harness next to the battery & splice into the LNGV Data line, well the instructions didnt indicate the color of the data wire, so I accidently connected the grey wire. The gauge didn't work, then I realized I misread the instructions, looked at the wiring diagram and realized I was suppose to connect the green wire.
2. So I connected the green wire and the shift light was working but the needle wasn;t, so I figured I must have fried the gauge by hooking up the grey wire, Luckily I bought that second kit, so I installed the 2nd gauge and it worked. Then the damn power line broke where I crimped the connector on as I was putting the housing back on the gauge, so I fixed that.
Atleast I can say I learned a few things.
I haven't got to drive the bike with it yet, but will soon.
Here are the pics, and some pics of the bike, I took the pics in middle of doing things, that's why the gauge is crooked, I plan on getting better pics this week,
