Does anyone have the diagram for a nightster indicator panel and speedo holder?
I just bought a speedo holder off of a Nightster to replace the holder and indicator panel that busted in my wreck. My problem is that the old indicator panel is incandescent and the new nightster one is LED. 10 wires to 7 on the new one and I tried to check lights for which was ground and hot for each light. I got left blinker, right blinker and high beam just fine. But i got multiple hot wires indicating neutral and nothing for oil pressure.
My question is does anyone happen to have a factory wiring diagram of the nightster speedo holder and indicator panel? Unfortunately I dont know what year it came off of but I might be able to find out tomorrow. It has factory wiring so I am looking for color designations from the manual.
Thanks in advance.
Heres a picture, maybe someone can guess year (long shot, shitty photo).
Speedometer pin numbers, color and what they are for at the speedometer connection
the main harness pin/colors will be after each one listed
1. Ignition=Orange goes to pin 6 at main harness connection.
2. Serial Data=Light Green/Violet goes to pin 7 at main harness
3. not used
4. not used
5. Battery=Brown.Grey goes to pin 2 at main harness
6. Accessory=Orange/White goes to pin 1 at main harness
7. Ground=Black goes to pin 12 at main harness
8. Trip Odometer Reset=Black To reset Switch
9. Fuel Level=Yellow/White goes to pin 10 at main harness
10. not used
11. Trip Odometer Reset= Black To Reset Switch
12. not used
Indicator Lights, colors from each light, each wire goes to main harness, same color wires are grouped together and go to same pin.
Left Turn = Black/Violet Black goes to pin 12 at main harness Violet goes to pin 5
High Beam = Black/White Black goes to pin 12 at main harness White to pin 4
Neutral = Orange/Tan Orange goes to pin 6 at main harness Tan goes to pin 8
Oil = Orange/Green Yellow Orange goes to pin 6 Green/Yellow goes to pin 9
Right Turn = Black/Brown Black goes to pin 12 Brown goes to pin 3
On the light panel the:
Blacks are Grounds
Orange is power
All other wires go to Item they are for
This is taken from the 2012 Sportster service manual, does not specify model but has another diagram for bikes with tachometers.
If you need More please ask or PM me, My bike is at a show over the weekend and I will get back as soon as I can.
