hey folks. all my stuff finally arrived for my bar change out.
got some sweet 12" apes from biltwell however they are dimpled.
going to need to drill them to wire internally, but heres where i need the help - where in the dimple do i drill the hole for the wire to enter the bars?
ive taken a pic and color marked some positions where i think i should drill. please have a look and let me know which color is the right area! this is the left hand clutch side:
thanks for all the help guys and girls it is much appreciated
I actually shortened the length of my bars by 1", lined up my grip and controls, then marked a spot that appeared correct. If I were you I would drill in the center and adjust as needed. FYI - Your gonna need a larger hole than you might think. Mine was more oblong than round by the time I finished grinding and filing. And pulling the wires through was a PITA ... even with my directional wiring eliminated. Not trying to discourage you, but that's how it went for me. Take your time and you should be ok.
I just drilled and internally wired mine last weekend. I drilled 1/2" holes, and as stated, fit my controls on and figured where they would enter the bar. Also used wire lube and it really made a difference.
