Default What to do????

Hey everyone I'm looking to get a Harley here within the next two weeks, I'll be coming from a 06 Honda Shadow and I'm not a very tall guy standing a whompin' 5'2. Anyways I have my choices narrowed down to a 2011 Sportster basically stock with about 300 miles on it, a 2012 Nightster with some mods and 1800 miles on it or 2007 Dyna Superglide with just over 5k miles on it with few mods. So my question is do you ladies/gents think that moving from a 750cc bike to a Dyna would be to much and I should take it slow and go first to the Sportser/ Nightster then if I want later move up to a bigger bike? Also what are the pros/cons on the Sporty to the Nightster besides the smaller gas tank on the nightster. Thanks for any and all advice you all can give!

If you want to take it slow I would suggest the Dyna then a Sportster...

Have you sat on the Dyna? I have a Softail & an Electra Glide and hate how wide I have to spread my legs to straddle the motor to get my feet on the ground. That 07 Dyna has the same bulky motor.

LOL....at your height you may have to stick with the sporty. Yes you will always want the big twin but you are really a perfect fit at your height for any sportster.

You'd probably be a better fit for the Sportster. Have you ridden them yet? If you haven't, that might help make your decision easier.

Thanks all for the advice and I think I'm going to go with the sportster instead of the nightster just for the bigger tank alone.

There is a plethora of aftermarket support for the sportster series. So if later on you wanted a bigger tank it's to easy. Some may disagree but I think the sportsters are mote nimble than the heavier Harley bikes an will outperform your Honda in the handling and power department. My buddy has a shadow 1350 I believe it is and it's ungodly slow compared to my sportster with just slip ons and an AC.

I have to agree there I live in CA and can lane share so in the Morning when i have to drive to Coronado island over a huge bridge with completely stopped traffic my nightster just zooms right thru. I see other much larger harley's unable to do this and then sit in traffic for 45 minutes while i get to my office in 10.

Yeah fellas thanks for the insight, and yes I know the Nightster is apart of the Sportster fam, what I meant to say is Imma go with the Sportster C. Although I do like what the Nightster looks like, I'm more in to the chrome look! Yes my honda was under powered but was a great bike to learn on! I should have my bike in about 3 weeks so I'll post the pics. I want to put the 8" RSD mini apes (chrome), RSD chrome air-cleaner, badlander seat, 1/4 fairing, and either the V&H sideshots or the Rhinehart cross-over pipes. Anyone have any insight on either one? Then in time I want to change out the wheels to a 21 in front and keep the 16 in the rear and a custom paint job, but thats gonna have to wait till next year!
