Default Quick detach sissy bar
The HD quick detach sissy bar, part # 51146-10. Can I mount this directly to my Iron without the detachable hardware and it just not be detachable?

Its worth it though in my opinion because the harware doesnt stand out at all. I have it for my nightster and forget I have the harware most of the time.

worth it I have the detachable solo rack and plan on getting the detachable sissy bar and backrest pad takes seconds to switch between what you want and looks great

This setup also allow for a complete change in both form and function. I can go from touring mode with sundowner seat, back rest and luggage rack, to sport bike with stock or solo seat in about 2 min.
