I been having the suspicion that my speedo wire isn't getting a good connection, a wire is getting pinched or something with the speed sensor. I think it'd be the first 2 most likely. It's happened 2x now since doing the tank lift that the speedo has cut out on the highway and shown 0 mph. It also produces a check engine light that goes away as soon as the speedo comes back.
I'm going to pull the tank off tomorrow and check it out, die electric grease it again and make sure lines aren't getting pinched. Is there anything else I should look into?
Oh it's no problem. Supporting your products as well as you have gives repeat business in my eyes. I didn't get to lift the tank off today hopefully tomorrow.
Are you running braided cables?? I had a similar problem and came to find out that one of the cables had rubbed through a wire under the tank just enough to make the speedo drop out when I would turn the throttle more than usual.
I had a speedo problem but it was due to little metal flakes being on the speed sensor. Ever since I cleaned them off I never had any trouble and that was beginning of last spring. I thought it was initially the crappy fuel pak I had but that was removed and it was still doing it.
