Removing chrome tank trim on 06 1200c
Has anyone removed the chrome tank trim on there tank.Wondering how the paint looked underneath & best way to get it off.It bothers me that it is not chrome don't look wright to me.I don't want to buy the chromre one they sell at dealer just wan't it removed any suggestions.

i am having my bike painted this saturday, and i just finished removing that ugly FAKE chrome piece it bothered me too that is was not chrome... I don't plan on buying the one from the stealer...there is nice paint underneath.. the adhesive just peeled off with my fingers...

Our local custom shoptakestank chrome off in 5 minutes with fishing string and no chance of scratches.

It will also come off using a heat gun to warm it up. The heat makes it easier to remove the adheisive.

wow... I like that piece on my bike.
I heard that a good pound fish line and heat gun does the trick also.

It is not that I don't like it but it doesn't go with the other chrome accents.It stands out to much because it isn't chrome.(Just my opinion)
