Default what just happened

So I had just washed the bike and took it out for a cruise, I was on the interstate going about 70 when I gunned it to pass a semi. a few seconds later the bike kinda popped and a little liquid sprayed onto my right pant leg and onto the gas tank out of the air breather area ( I smelled my pant leg when I got home and it did not smell like gas so I think it might have been water that was sitting in aircleaner then got blown out by a backfire???) anyways as I was heading home I gunned it again to pass someone and halfway through passing them the bike started to bog down a little. Then from that point on it would run fine until I gave it more than about half throttle it would start to bog down like the choke was on (it was completely off I kept checking it after this happened). Any ideas as to whats going on? maybe something clogged up the fuel line so it cant get max fuel at higher rpms???

Sporties like to spit blow by out of the breather. You just experienced that. Run hot on the freeway for a bit and it'll start dribbling

Did you get the filter element wet?

I'd bet you soaked the air filter. Had a Shadow with a thundercharger on it and every time I got caught in the rain same thing happened. It acts like you've got the choke on because the soggy filter can't flow enough air and hence you're running really rich. On the Honda I actually carried tools so I could pull the plugs and wire brush all the build up off.
