Default windshield

I have a 2011 Iron and I love the damn thing. My problem is the highway. After about 30 minutes I feel like my head wants to detach itself, is there a detachable windshield option that doesn't look like butt? I have 12" mini apes on it, other than that the front end is stock.

You have at least a couple options. I have a fly shield and at 65 or so its useless. The Plexifairing 3 seems to be one of the less expensive routes, at about $200. the Memphis Shades batwing is really cool but is around $400 I think. I'm going to try the plexifairing 3, and if I don't like it, I'll use it for a mold and make a smaller one out of fiberglass.

Look into a windvest, they are pricey but look lioke they are a part of a sportster.
Let me see if I can find a pic of old sporty for you.

The windvest looks amazing but at 400 is bit far fetched. I love my bike sans windshield but at 80 for about 45 min my neck hurts and my ears roar. I'll stick to my FF helmet for highway riding.

I have the harley quick detach releases on it. It works well and when you remove the windshield the docking hardware comes off with it. It is a lil pricey though

I'm most likely going with the HD quick detach unit. The wind pressure, rocks, bugs, sand, etc gets old after a hundred miles or so. It will be one of the finishing touches for my "bagster".

I would recommend not getting the low profile windsheild and get the standard. I bought the low profile and had to get a standard replacement to change it. I thought it would look better, but it feels like I am riding through a tornado lol. Its a lil to short at least for me anyways.

I have the HD quick detach. Works really good in colder weather and on the interstate. I'm 5'11 and it is the perfect height, for me.

I've been researching the Memphis Shades batwing lately, and I think I'm gonna save my $ for that one. I've heard alot of good things and I think its time I take the plunge lol.
