Currently I have the exhaust shields on my pipes but Ive been getting several complaints from my girlfriend about the heat coming from the pipes. I have noticed that the pipes are so hot that it almost melts the bottom of her boot when she steps on them. Now I dont mean melting like its turning the boot into gew, I mean it does leave a smudge on the pipe.
ANYWAYS, the point of this thread is to find out what people recommend. Keep the shields or wrap the exhaust???
I was also thinking of getting some adhesive heat sheild and lining the inside of the exhaust shields. I have used the adhesive before on my Ninja and it worked surprisingly well.
Yeah that is exactly what I have. I bought a lot of it when I had my Ninja cause I wasnt sure how much I would need. I have enough for both pipes and I think that this would be the best bet.
I know wrapping the pipes would help a lot too but the adhesive heat shield would be the fastest and cheapest solution. But if people say that wrapping is the way to go then I might just have to wrap the pipes.

My short shots had shields. They got too hot to touch with bare skin but as long as you didnt do that it was ok. My diesels are wrapped, they are so freakin hot at stops I need to put the bottom of my heel on the rear brake lever to get my leg as far as possible from them pipes..........they are HOT!
