Harleys and rain
I don't ride in the rain for one simple reason. Every time I have, every square inch of my bike gets coated with a filthy, dingy film. It really takes a super multi-hour cleaning job to get into all the nooks & crannies, and have the bike looking nice and clean again.
My only problem with riding in the rain is I can't see, especially if a car or truck passes you. The spray coming off a vehicle temporarily blocks your view. Also, I wear glasses which doesn't help, often I need to look over them which is not ideal.
yeah i had just 3 days ago on the motorway, a huge truck carrying some kind of crap, fly past me spaying a nice combo of rain n the **** he was carrying directly onto my visor, i could see anythin for about 10 seconds (scary), actually the rain saved me, cos it washed the crap away off my visor
I don't like messing up my nice clean shiny bike if I can help it... plus, there are enough idiots out there when the sun is shining.
Having said that, I've done it and will still do it, but I won't leave the house if its raining.

Edit: BuzzCap7, couldn't agree more.

I live in Florida. If you live in Florida you're gonna get wet sometimes. I have a rain suit but water seems to find its way in anyway. Also, my jacket to my rain suit is bright yellow. If I know I'm gonna get caught in the rain I wear the FF as it makes a big difference. I never liked cleaning the bike after riding in the rain but it's just part of the price we pay to play.
