All I got to say is..B..S..Most bike accidents happen by kids with over powered bikes that drive like nutcases. The older riders get killed by idiots that don't see us or are drunk. Ask any cop any day on a highway. Just like most police get killed assisting drivers and get hit by some drunk or a inattentive driver.
"So does age bring wisdom on the rules of the road? Not a chance. Motorcycle accidents have doubled in the past 10 years, and nearly half of motorcycle deaths in 2004 were riders over 40. "
I don't put much worry into 'stats'. Does this take into consideration that the number of bikes on the road in the last 10 years has gone up as well? With the average age of a biker being higher, it doesn't surprise me that a higher number of older riders are being killed on the roads.
How true, and I'm one of the reasons the median age has gone from 30 to 40 in the last fewyears. The middle age generation is carrying on our biker heritageplus the number of riders has nearly doubled.
Watch your butt , from the left. 90% of all accidents happen from the left. A stat I picked up
somewhere.

Iâll believe the stats. While the kids (squids) ridding around like nuts make up a large portion, the amount of 50 somethingâs that have just decided to buy a $20,000, 700+lb bike to learn on make up a big part of that population as well⌠I have read many studies on motorcycle fatalities⌠you will find that a crash that a 20-something would recover from (after a long hospital stay), would simply kill someone in their 50âs. So, this with decreased reaction time (especially if youâre just learning AND older), general lack of experience, and the fact that many of these folks are wearing a skid lid or a backward hatâŚ
And of course the cell phone glued to the ear cagers
