It's my understanding that while you will lose some low end torque you won't damage the engine.

I love the sound. It pops on decel occasionally, but I actually like that too. You can regain the lost torque (that I didnt notice, but am sure was lost) by adding some torque inserts, check out dk customs for an idea of what I'm talking about.

just get some torque cones, can get them on ebay for like $15, gives you the mean sound but lose no back pressure or power

I have drag pipe slip ons that came with baffles and taking them out was just stupid. Not too much louder while idling and def slower with a rougher ride in the low rpms. It really didn't seem louder besides the fact that it would get louder without as much go. My bike doesn't have any tuner yet though.

Again , Back preasure will not equal horse power.Ever.

Re read.

Fooling around with the baffles will make the Harley loud. It will also detune the motor. Many riders dont care they just want the bike to be loud. That's fine really there is no proformance putting around town anyway. Who cares if your blowing unburned fule thru the pipe it sounds Cool.So what if the motor is running rough and there is major carbon build up on the piston top. I be Cool.

www.rbracing-rsr.com/ look and see lsr 2-1 exhaust.

Basic, a little tiny 883 is going to need a smaller dia pipe than a 1400 cc moter. Geting the burned fule out/new fule in. Cool is slow hot is fast. Biger the pipe the slower exaust gas moves, the slower it moves the less new fule can get in.

Take my 2000 1200 C. 1 3/4'' drag pipes designed for equal leangth, the ol cv jeted to high rpms. Around town I am just runing fule thru around 2800 rpm the power curve begins. Full twist and the thing runs total on it can't run faster everything is geting in and out as fast as it can.

So what the ****,no one cares about this stuff execpt the guys selling the bolt on cool looking pipes that work in reverse. But look so Cool!

J.

Thanks Sam!

Thunder Torque Inserts will give you back your low and mid range torque AND will NOT sacrifice any sound in doing it.

Get the W118's for your Sporty...you will be pleasantly surprised.
