what is wrong with my 1200 Xl 2008?
It has original pipes, Power Commander III, Screaming Eagle air filter and the fuel injection has been programmed in H-D service. The fuel consumption in moderate drive in highway (60-75 miles/h) is 6,4 liters/100 km 2,3 gal/100 miles I suppose).
It should be about 4,5 liters/100 km (1,6 gal/100 miles)?
The mileage of the bike is only 2200. There are no lambda sensors in pipes because of the Power Commander?

Thanks a lot for answers!

Not on a 1200. ~50 miles per gallon cruising at 65 mph would be typical.
I've never seen a 1200 get 62 MPG cruising on the highway at 60-75 mph.
Not sure what's going on there but just to confirm what you should be getting I get 5L/100 km (47 USMPG) on the highway quite consistantly. Never got 4.5
Have you tried a different brand of fuel? What octane fuel are you using?
My 883 gets about 45 mpg. I would think a 1200 might be a little lower. With my 3.3 gal my light tends to come on just over 100 miles. 2.3 gal per 100 miles sounds about right to me.
2007 XL1200L here and my average is about 40 mpg with city and freeway combined. If I happen to do mostly freeway riding at 60+ mph then I can get about 44mpg. The bike is all stock, I weigh about 145lbs and I don't ride agressively.
I have been unable to get an accurate milage reading on my Sport since all the fuel and air problems I have had.
I tried to check it Saturday and I got 82 miles on the ode,
and had to flip on reserve. That won't do.
When I got home I fixed the crappy plastic carb fuel inlet so maybe that will account for it.
I had hoped it would go up signifigantly after the couple of repairs I have done. I think I remember recording around 35mpg last time I checked, but I don't know how long the piinched petcock diaphragm had been leaking.
My friend has a car with air and all power that gets better than that. Well, it is 20 years newer though.;
