Preplexed non starter?
Hi guys,
I have just rbought a '09 1200 nightster from my buddy, both we're both having trouble starting it?
He's neglected it for a while and hasnt started it for about a year. First attempt, obviously nothing happened apart from a very week head lamp, understandably as it been left for so long.
So i left it on trickle charge for a day, tried again and nothing. No clicking, no sounds, no fuel injection, nothing? Strangley however, the headlamp, horn, brakelights and odometer all work, but the neutral light and front indicator don't?
I've tried to jump start it in 2nd but still nothing, which makes me think its not the battery but the security system?
By taking the battery leads off (which set off the alarm) to put the trickle charger on, have i buggered up the security setting which won't allow it to start? Or, like in another thread, is the key fob dead? He cant remeber the security code to bypass it, so what can i do?
I've ordered a new battery just incase, but wondered if you guys could help??
