how much fuel is left in the tank when the low fuel lamp comes on as of now i go about 115-117 miles before the lamp comes on its a 2012 883 3.3 gallon tank

The only way to calculate mpg is to fill up, drive x amount of miles, fill up again and divide miles driven by gallons used. The fuel light is irrelevant. How much fuel is left when the light comes on will vary bike to bike. In my 4.5 gallon tank it comes on when I have about 2 gallons left.

the only way to tell is fill it up your tank and look at the pump. Subtract amount you put in from 3.3
Speaking of fuel pumps, with the 3.3 gal tank, how much space (volume) does the EFI (2007+) take up in the tank? Or, to put it another way, what is the real capacity now?
Hahaha - until you run out of fuel, and then you really wish you knew how much fuel is left in your tank when the fuel light comes on!!!!
I used to get 22 miles safely (casual riding) with the light on, but today my scoot comes back with a new smaller primary drive cog, so it'll be less now I guess (the price I'm willing to pay for the extra acceleration!).
The only way I know to check for sure is to ride till you're dry....... (carry spare fuel when you're checking it this way lol)

Same with mine, im always putting in 2.5 gallons lol. Usually comes on at 117-150 depending on my mood.
My bike has the 3.3 tank and my mods are in my sig. I do like to crank on it so my light will come on between 60 and 85 miles. To check MPG just devide the gallons used my miles rode on that tank or the other way around LOL!-you do not have to wait for the light to come on do it.
wow 115 miles!
i think the most iv had out my 2011 Iron is 75 miles before the light comes on.
i dont ride like an idiot.
the only performance mods i have are V&H short shots, and i would exactly call them a "performance" mod.
does this seem low to anyone else? could it be a problem?
i know every bike with different riders will get different milage, but 35 miles seems like a big difference.
especially considering i dont have stage 1 or anything else

Irrelevant in figuring out mpg.
I have a Power Vision, so it tells me how much fuel I have left. My light comes on when I have 2 gallons left, so I still have 90 miles before I'd run out.
My bikes fuel light comes on with over 2 gallons still in the tank.
The best way to figure out your mileage is to reset your trip meter when you fill up then ride. When you fill up again divide mileage by fuel replaced in tank.
I don't even bother with my fuel guage anymore. At 250kms I fill up.
