Default Which seat

So me and the mrs go for our first substantial ride and we very quickly decided the stock seat had to go. So I'm looking at 3 different seats and was just wanting some opinions as to which one was best for long distance 2 up riding. Looking at the Mustang vintage touring, the Saddleman Explorer, and the Harley Sundowner. Which do you feel is a better seat?

I just purchased the Sundowner 2 up and love it. I have a '96 sportster and needed something other then the stock seat. The Sundowner serves my ride perfectly. My 60 year old "seat" needs a bit more padding under it, And I am not talking about the bike seat!

I hear that the Mustang is the way to go as far as comfort is concerned. The Saddleman and Sundowner both get mixed reviews from what I've read. I'm looking for a good looking reasonably priced 2 up myself. I currently have a LePera Bare Bones solo which I love.

I weigh right at 197 and the Sundowner supports my weight very comfortably.
The Sundowner actually pulls me down and away from the bars a little allowing me to relax my arms more as well. Best thing to do is try to sit on few different seats. Go to your local HD dealer and have them set up a seat fro you to try out.

I can only comment on the Sundowner. It's a great seat. I put it on my bike when I bought the bike. I rode on it to Ca from Co in 3 days.
I did a Saddle Sore 1000 on it a year later, 1,1?? Miles in 22 hrs. The seat is now 5 yrs old and I came back last week from a 7 day 2,000 trip around Co and Ut. The seat is still great.
I still have the stock seat a Badlander. It looks good and I occasionally put it on, but 30 no.urea is about all I can take. My wife starts squirming after about 15 minutes.
Last year wife and I were in the Black Hills for a few full days of riding. She had no complaints.

For me, Sundowner sucks. My butt can't stand it for more than 30-40 miles. Gets pretty bad in first 10 miles. I'm 6'2" and with mid controls it just forces me into most uncomfortable position. With stock seat I can ride as long as I wish. I use the Sundowner for two-up and I hate it.

At that height of 6'2", are you sure it is not the mid-controls causing the uncomfortable feelings?
I ask because I had the mid-controls and felt agony of stock seat because my knees were locked into the short position for long periods of time. Felt same with Sundowner seat until I had forward controls added.
I am 5'11" and am so happy when I changed over to forward controls. I can even tolerate the stock seat a little more since moving the controls forward. The Sundowner seat is heaven for me now with my legs stretched out a little more.

I've had the Sundowner and Mustang Wide Touring on different bikes. I think the Mustang is the better of the two. Since the Sundowner came with my bike I'll keep it as it's still a pretty decent and comfortable seat.
