Default Clutch tech question....

Last evening I put new friction and steel plates in my 02 1200. After reassembly the bike was dragging (constant slight pull with the clutch lever pulled in). I have already tried various adjustment settings per the manual, confirmed primary chain is adjusted correctly, and fluid is not overfilled.
This morning I disassembled the unit again to see if anything jumped at me, and one noticed one item. My adjustment screw has about .020" of play in the bearing in the pressure plate. Is this correct?
I have searched the manual and this forum and could not find an answer.
Also, mic'd the ST and FR plates and all is good for tolerance. I installed Drag Specialties plates (wish now I would have read Sportypig's reviews of the SE prior to purchasing).
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

I can't help you with the .020", but the screw adjustment tends to become more critical without the spring plate in the clutch pack. With the SE clutch pack, I found anything more than 1/4 turn out caused clutch drag, and trying to install an Easy Pull extension on the ball and ramp assembly made it impossible to eliminate clutch drag.
