half a dozen joints fell thru a hole in my shirt pocket once, riding back
, found 'em all. only one had been run over. funny how you remember stuff, this was back in the late '60's.

if you remember this maybe you weren't really there!
Lost a hat, a favorite...looked for days on the median I thought it went, never found it. Lost 5 bucks out of a shirt pocket, it was snapped, but got sucked out anyway. Riding on the Balt. beltway, several people were waving at me, I thought gee, what nice folks, they must like Harley's; when I stopped for a smoke, found my fork bag opened, lost a coupla tools and a pack of smokes. I had spare smokes but realized what they were waving about. Now I double check everything before riding off.
i lose hats when on the river.. if a guy is quick he can turn around and get it before it sinks... kinda of a bummer but when it's time .. it's just time i guess.
last count i think that is what happened to the last three. course i tend to wear them past faded etc.
when i have people ask me if i've been on the boat lately first thing i think of is my hat must look bad.
lets see.. bike content.. fork stem nut at sixty on boattail. saw something out of the corner of my eye and threw a hand up... actually caught it.
stopped put it back on to get home and had it come off again a few miles down the road. rode the bike home without it (wasn't able to find it, couldn't believe it came off after snugging it down). the replacement never had that problem..
best i can figure it the original only had a couple of thread that gave way.. had put a lot of miles on it before losing it. with that chrome cap i put on it after rebuilding the forks i never noticed it getting loose. i think they gave way all at once. i had crossed some rough tracks just before. after that i didn't replace that chrome cap. wanted to be able to see it.

While slowing down to make a left turn at an intersection, a bungy cord came loose behind me and I lost a couple of 2 liter bottles of coke.
Guy behind me said they looked like bombs being pickled off a bomb rack when he was back in Nam. One of them outran me to the far curb, where it exploded on impact. I recovered the other one.
last year I lost my shades when I was on the high way, luckily for me there was a sand storm at the time and I was 20 mins from home talk about a horrible ride
- _ - used a whole bottle of clear eyes when I got home.
