Well I got my forward controls installed this evening.. what a pain in the ***, I didn't realize I'd have to take the exhaust off.. I think I could have gotten it done without removing the exhaust if I'd have had a little L shaped torx wrench to remove the back of the brake bar. (short shots by the way)
All the comfort I gained in my legs means nothing because of the discomfort I am now getting from the foot pegs. The stock foot pegs from the mids aren't angled right to be that far forward and my feet just slide off of them. Guess I'll hit up DK in the morning for some of his BMX style, I think that'll solve that issue.
I'm also now leaned forward too far reaching for the stock bars, so that's got to be fixed immediately. I have no idea whether I should be trying to get some mini apes or just some kind of pull back riser.. I'd appreciate any advice anyone has on that. I was getting some upper back pain after a few hundred miles with the stock bars anyway.. just haven't tried to solve it because I have idea which direction to go.. I'd rather not have to throw money at different bars playing trial and error.
...look at getting some stirrups which support your heals. I, too, had to get them on another bike from the past and what a difference they make. Don't remember if I got 'em at the local HD dealer or if they were Kury's.
Damn.. I just assumed the HD mini-boards would not rotate and wasn't willing to gamble on them.. reading that link it looks like they do rotate. I already ordered some triple trap's from DK. Ah well, if I don't like the look on my bike I'll give these a shot.
