Battery Draining While Running

Ok so I’m new on here and new to fixing my Sportster 883 but I have a issue I’m trying to fix maybe you guys can help.
I can jump start my bike but it sounds very weak , I checked voltage on the running battery and it’s 6 volts. I turn it off I have 12.5 volts . But when I turn the key to on I get nothing on my odometer, acc mode it lights up the odometer.
i played with the wires from the regulator and it revved up to regular idle speed and brought my bike home but didn’t start again. Is this the regulator or battery. FYI the regulator wire trick don’t work anymore.
