Default Conversions for an 883 Custom

Last year I was given an '99 883 custom and have been thinking about modifications. I'm 6'4" 230 lbs. it feels a touch small but I love riding it.
The mods I've been reading up on are:
  • 1250 conversion kit
  • Heavier duty shocks
  • Bigger tank
  • Bigger tires
  • Possibly some apes

Anyone have any thoughts?

Get rid of the stock riser.
Best thing I ever did to my Custom.

For the 1250 conversion kit check out NRHS stage 1, 2 and 3 kits. They give you insane performance over other kits. Price is pretty good for stage 1 and 2.

I went with Biltwell Slimline risers and Tracker bar, and I relocated the speedo with a slightly modified Roland Sands gauge relocation kit.

That looks great! Good tip. Completely avoid going with apes there.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to be giving them a call. So many options.
