Torque Cones
Alright today was the day i put on the torque cones i asked about last week. I put them on my 05 883C with vance and hines straight pipes. I rode it and i had my dad ride it and we put our conclusions together. Here's what we got. It changes the tone of the bike. It no longer sounds like vance and hines. I think i liked the sound better before. However the sound is alot louder. Loud enough when he rides to the right of me he needs ear protection. So i really like that. The neighbors said it sounds like a big twin, they thought i got another bike. People say the cones would give more low end toque. But we noticed more upper rpm power. And better throttle responce. So i like it, its faster. They do work. However we both had concerns. The tappets that i could hear before in the top of the motor. You can really hear them now. And i hate that sound. There more like clanging now. And it runs rougher at idle. Does that mean i just need to adjust my carb or is it because now there's less air comming out of the motor the engine is having to work harder to expose of it? When you put your hands and the back of the pipes and you can feel it comming out. There's a little less comming out then before. But welll give it some time and see how it works out. The sound may change some more once the cones come a little more and home and get broke in.
