Default Getting head boggle at high speeds?

At around 60+ on my nightster, my head starts to get thrown side to side.... i DO wear a full face helmet because I wear contacts and they get too dry with sun glasses on and goggle look dorky lol... i was thinking about getting a windshiel for the highways but I'm not sure if that'll help my prblem, especially the one I'm looking at - Gladiator - So I'm not sure what to do... Also does anyone know any good looking goggle or sunglasses that would prevent wind from hitting my eyes? thanks!

I just use a cheaper pair of HD foam-backed slim goggles I bought at my dealer. They were $15 and they're 100% black with clear lenses. Who cares what it looks like if it keeps the wind out of your eyes.

I also wear contacts, and wore a full face helmet to keep my eyes from drying out. Got tired of the bobble head doll feeling too. Then I picked up one of these and no more issues with head wobble and no issues with the contacts. Better than goggles imo

Looks better in person vs the picture, and the lense is tinted, not clear.

Ok...so I was having the same problem and I wear a full face helmet. What I found out from talking to a friend is the helmet was too far back on my head. If you tilt the helmet a little more forward when you put it on (and play with it for a little bit till you get it right) it stops once you find the right position. That is what I did. Make sure you stop before you adjust your helmet. Don't want to do it on the fly...lol

I cured my head boggle on one bike by taking off the windshield, never experienced it on a bike without a windshield, with ff or 1/2. Have you tried a different helmet, or even a quick run without one? With just a helmet, wind should feel pretty steady.

Have the Scorpion EX0-100 which is a carbon copy of the HD you posted. Helmets have a huge impact on head wobble or buffeting. Most who ride helmetless have no head wobble. No more then a crosswind you catch driving your car/truck with the windows down. I ride with goggles sometimes but prefer just using the dropdown.

I do not wear contacts, but require glasses for driving/ riding. So I have a pairs of prescription Oakley’s in both dark tint and clear for night riding. I wear them with a ˝ helmet when riding either bike … no issues or bobble head.

I wear these cheap foam backed glasses: http://www.thebestmcglasses.com/ with no complaints, and I also wear contacts. Only time I had and head boggle is when using a windshield. I had a National Cycle DX for a while and just couldn't get used to the head shake it gave me. Last week a co-worker and I switched bikes and rode together to the next town, he has a Yamaha Warrior, with a full-size shield, and I had the same head shake, just something to consider if you are looking to get a shield to get rid of the "boggle"... it might get worse.

Many posts on this subject, use the search function with the word buffetting, set back and read. Bottom line is this is air coming up from the bottom and under your helmet. Lowers will help the most, helmet, windshield, seat heighth, passenger or not, foot control position and on and on.

Agreed. You hear about this from some of the bagger riders. I have experienced buffeting on my Ultra when running a short 3” windshield. Now running an 8” high windshield with no problems … not that that has anything to do with a Sportster, just FYI.
