Default Adjusted my Rear Shocks

Since I got my bikee a few weeks ago I noticed when going over any bump it would be extremely rough and hard. I just figured that was just how the bike was and that the factory shocks just sucked that bad. Well a friend of mine was looking at my bike and was like "dude, why do you have your shocks turned all the way in?" I didnt even realize it so I luckily had a spanner wreck for something at work that fit perfectly and turned the shocks out so I now have more spring travel, I put it in the middle setting for now and wow, what a difference. The bike is actually alot more comfortable and I dont cringe when I see a little imperfection in the road anymore.

No matter how you adjust the OEM shocks they will still be terrible.

I was planning on getting some good shocks next spring, already spent enough money on the bike in the past few weeks lol. So Road Kings are good what about progessive shocks and what models work best?

I hear the Progressive 412 rear shocks do a good job.I will be changing my rear shocks to those and dropping in the Progressive fork springs.Hope to see a nice improvement,as the ride quality is my biggest complaint at this time.

I have the Progressive 412's and find that they are a nice improvement over stock. However, the Sportster will never ride like a Road King, nor should it. The 412's are a good compromise for a better ride without taking out the fun in the twisties.

+1 on Progressive 412's. It is a great improvement for such a small price.

I dont ever plan to really ride the twisties hard with this bike. I guess I've been riding this bike pretty hard like its a sport bike, I've had the bike too low twice now where I've scraped the pipes. Once it was so bad my torque inserts came out lol. I just want a more comfy ride and not worry bout being ejected after hitting a bump.

Tightening my shocks up made the ride much better. They come loose as possible. I tightened them up to the third or fourth notch and they're a lot better.
