Default Buffeting

I know this has been posted about lot and I have read many threads but i am hoping for someone to chime in that is near my size.

I am 6 foot 3 inches.

The HD quick detach windshiels beats my head around something fierce.

Right now the shield is about nose level.

If I raise my head while riding, the Buffeting does not stop. If I duck it gets much better. However this makes me look thru the windshield which from what i read is wrong.

I typically ride without a shield but the wife is on me to put one on there when she rides. So I need to solve this.

Based on my ducking solving the problem, it seems that I need a taller shield, but that will put it above eye level.

It seems that if I go shorter I might have to go way shorter.

What about a Memphis or a recurve shield? The recurve in particular looks interesting.

The only thing I found that helped was switching to a small skull cap helmet. Pretty well stopped the buffeting problem for me.

I'm 5'9" and have the same issue. My windshield is just below my line of site. If I go for a taller screen I'd be looking through it. It makes me prefer just not using it.

My windshield is okay under 45mph but gets really bad above it. Which is when it's needed most.

Why the *** would I not use a WS on my Sportster? I commute each day to my work at 75 MPH, and that WS is something I can't miss at those speeds...

@ the OP:

there is a possibility to reduce the buffeting: on the two upper quick detach features, you can adjust the fittings, putting the WS a little more vertical. unscrew the two allen screws , adjust the WS, tighten the two allen screws. done.

If the WS, with the wind pressure, comes back to the previous position, try to put something (nuts & bolts) between the WS and the brackets to keep the WS as you want it.

Someone here has built specific brackets to put there in between, to put his WS on a more vertical position, I hope he will chime in..
