Default Ignition Replacement with a switch

I have seen the ignition relocation kits online, but has anyone actually gotten rid of the keyed ignition and replaced it with a switch? Just curious.....if you have or have any ideas any info would be great. I have been thinking about how I can do this.

I replaced mine with a rocker switch hidden under the edge of the seat.

Should not be a problem, only three wires to move. I'd want to move mine if it was up by the neck too. Mine's an old one with the key above the cowbell.

I cut the wires going to the original switch, spliced together the acc and ign wires and connected them to one prong of the new rocker switch and then connected the last wire to the other prong. Voila

Sounds easy enough. Where and how did you mount the switch? Pics would be great if you do have any

Unfortunatley i dont have pics. But once you have all the parts in hand its fairly simple. I should add that i did extend the wires about 8 inches so the switch would reach where i put it. I double sided taped it to the top of the oil bag just under the seat. It was meant to be temp placement but i kinda like it there

I think I'm about to do this as well, my key is getting grooves on it and it's getting increasingly hard to remove the key. I can't remember for certain if it started before I installed the DK ignition relocation but I don't think it did. The only theory I can come up with for why it's happening is the relocated position causes the switch to shake with the engine (its mounted on the starter ground bolt if i recall correctly), which is cutting grooves in the key. Sometimes it takes a few minutes of shaking and pullling to get the damned key out of the switch.. I'd rather have a hidden toggle than deal with that.
