Default Aftermarket Shocks?

Any recommendations for shocks on a XL883N Iron riding 2-Up? I cannot find a sweet spot with stock shocks.

A lot of people buy used touring air shocks. They seem to be a direct bolt on. A lot of people also like Progressive shocks. Their 412's are a good choice.

I vote for the big twin air shocks, I got mine for 100 bucks hardly used and it rides like a dream.

First if all, what kind of weight are we dealing with here?

Hey Wanabe, did you do anything to improve your front end?

Could you elaborate on that a little for me? I am new to the Harley world, as I just purchased a 2001 883 Hugger, my first ever Harley, and it rides very rough. The shocks on it are only 10.5 inches eyelet to eyelet and I don't think that is the correct shocks. The last owner was a lite weight girl and I think she is less than 1/2 my weight. I weigh 240
I am not allowed to use classified yet, and I don't know what to search for even if I could. I went to E-Bay and searched for "big twin air shocks" and didn't get any hits.
Thank You
Ron

I've been using the Harley touring air shocks for years on multiple sportys. Work great one up or two up.

You can go to ebay and search for "Harley air shocks". I just did it and it brought up 261 results. They come in 12" and 13". You will probably want the 12" to keep your sporty close to stock height.

I would use the new ones rickss59 mentioned, but I have only ever seen them in chrome, which I did not want.
