I posted this in the Touring forum a few weeks ago and got some interesting feedback.....

If you could take your bike anywhere in the world and do anything you wanted, where would you go and what would you do? I would go to Austrailia and cruise around the outback for a few weeks. Ive always wanted to go there and taking the olscooter along would make it twice as nice!

Since you added in, "and do anything you wanted to do". I'll choose Switzerland, nice riding through the mountains, and plenty of blondes "to do."

I'm sorry, did I say that out loud??

Leaving the sandy shores of NJ I'd head out for the Sturgis Rally in mid-Juneand take 6 weeks meandering among the New England states,Ohio, Indiana, Michigan,Illinois, Iowa, and up through theDakotastates, ending upin Sturgis at rally time to see the new HD's. After a week(or less) of Sturgis I'd head into Utah, Idaho, Montana,Wyoming and Colorado then head northwest to Washington and Oregon. Leaving the Portland area around mid-September, I'd cruise on down through California, over to Nevada, south to New Mexico, pick up old Rt. #66 and see where it took me. I'd make sure I passed through Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and the Carolinas on my way back to close up my shore house by the end of November. Doubling back here and there along the way is an absolute MUST as staying off all interstates! I much prefer the country and back roads and to ensure I stayed on them I'd have my trusty little Tom Tom GPS unit with me.

I figure at the end of that trip I'd be ready for my 25K service (I've got 5K on her now) and after all those miles, I'd let the dealer do it! While it's being serviced, I'd plan out next year's trip...

Scotland for a week or two, then i'd take the high speed ferry over to Ireland where i'd cruise the entire country for a few weeks. I actually plan to do this in a few years from now. I can dream till then right?

Kangwan-do, Korea (That's Kangwan Province).

Specifically the route to Chunchon to Sokcho. You pass into, through, and over the Taebek Mountains and end up on the Northern Pacific. Riding the coast would be great becuase of the clean roads and high ways. The hills out there and in the area up to Kosong (can't go further north due to the DMZ) are just beautiful. Though any route coming into Chunchon is beautiful. You will ride by the Taebek foothills or follow the Han River and its feeders. It is beatiful country with some great places to eat. Traffic don't mind and the cops won't chase.

Outside of that I'd say Kanaqin, Iraq. Beatiful countryside that is wide open and no bombs.
