Installed a set of 8 1/2" risers with the stock handlebars the other day to get my hands up a bit higher. Originally looked at the whole mini-apes route, but i wanted to try something not too many people do. I didn't have to change anything other than the brake line, and I technically didn't have to do that either (as you'll see in the pics).
My hands rest a little above my shoulders (I'm 5'8") and I'm in a more upright riding position. I'll probably look into extending the wiring harness but for now rerouting it around the tank is working. Might just put a tank lift on and tuck it under the tank instead haha. Enjoy the pics!
Looks very different, not a fan either but a good set of T bars might be a better answer. I'm thinking Ape Hangers may be the better choice even if it is a common thing.Just looks strange. In the end though it's yours and if ya like it more power to ya
