Hi guys, new to the forum. Put new progressive 11.5's on my 05 Sportster 883r this afternoon. Can someone confirm the rubber spacers go on the inside? up against the frame? sorry, the progressive instructions weren't super clear. Any pics would be helpful. For the life of me I can't get my pics to upload to show you my set up.
The spacer installation simply requires a bit of common sense.
- use the spacers to get the shocks far enough out from the bike so that they aren't rubbing or hitting on anything, particularly the belt guard.
- pick the spacer size (top and bottom) so that the shock winds up parallel to the bike, not cocked at an angle.
I don't remember using rubber spacers. My spacers are steel and the shocks have rubber bushings in their mounting holes. IIrc, I used 1/2" spacers top and bottom.
